Posted By:

Online ad spending in France rose to €434 million ($607.6 million, at the average 2009 exchange rate) in November 2009, according to the Adex Report from TNS Media Intelligence. As the Journal du Net reported, this was €34 million ($47.6 million) more than in November 2008, and the highest monthly online spend in 2009.

Moreover, the rise brought Internet spending to just under 16% of all ad spending in France during the month. Television still reigned supreme, with 32.1% of advertising spending, followed by the press, with 28.4%. But the Web was well ahead of radio, outdoor and cinema advertising totals.

Telecommunications led the table of highest spending industries, with a total of almost €54 million ($75.6 million).
